California Proposition 65

What is Prop 65?

Proposition 65, also known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act, was approved by California voters in 1986. It was designed to address growing concerns about exposure to toxic chemicals.

What does Prop 65 do?

Prop 65 requires the state to publish a list of chemicals that are known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. So far, over 900 chemicals and materials have been added to the list. Prop 65 also requires manufacturers to provide a warning to customers if their product contains a harmful level of one or more of the listed chemicals.

What does this have to do with our bicycle lockers?

Styrene, a chemical component of resin, was added to the list in February, 2016. Resin is a key ingredient in the production of composite materials, like boats, car bodies and our bicycle lockers.
Laboratory testing and a Toxicologist’s assessment have concluded that our bicycle lockers are CA Prop 65 complaint. We’ve done the work to ensure that anyone can buy and use our lockers worry free.
